For a groundbreaking third time, Hernö Gin has been awarded the prestigious title International Gin Producer of the Year at the renowned International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) – widely regarded as the Oscars of the spirits industry. This remarkable achievement highlights Hernö Gin’s unwavering commitment to excellence and its place among the world’s best gin producers.
Earlier this year, Hernö Gin made headlines by winning three IWSC gold medals, including one Gold Outstanding. Only five gin distilleries worldwide were awarded the highest accolade of Gold Outstanding in this year’s competition, and no other distillery received more gold medals than Hernö Gin. This exceptional medal count has now culminated in one of the most prestigious awards a gin producer can achieve.
The judges at IWSC noted: “Hernö have finished their hotel, which is a huge milestone and will be great for the local community and gin tourism. We’ve also been impressed with the standard of their collaborations. These aren’t just for attention; the liquid is fantastic too. They also just won the most golds in their category, giving them that extra edge.”
Hernö Gin was shortlisted together with renowned distilleries from around the globe, including Four Pillars (Australia), Alembic Distillery (Japan), Elg Spirits (Denmark), and Poetica Distillery (Croatia).
This is beyond incredible! Winning International Gin Producer of the Year for the third time is a dream come true. It’s a testament to our dedication to crafting world-class gin. To be recognized yet again on a global stage couldn’t make me more proud of what we do at Hernö Gin, says Jon Hillgren, founder and Master Distiller at Hernö Gin.
The IWSC Awards Celebration took place in London on November 12.
