95/ 5 Stars, September 2017 by Bob Campbell MW in Cellar Talk Wines. Ranked #5 of 104 2015 Pinot Noir tasted from Marlborough.
Bright, fresh and elegant pinot noir with dark cherry, wood smoke, liquorice, violet and spicy oak flavours. An appealing wine with energy and drive. Reasonably accessible now but should develop well in bottle.

Richly fruited and deeply savoury, this gratifying pinot shows dark berry, game, dried herb, cedar and warm spice aromas on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate that is beautifully weighted and plush. The wine is rounded and silky and offers excellent depth of flavour, wonderfully framed by fine, chalky tannins. At its best: now to 2023.

Varietal with a mix of fragrances from silty clay soils, cherry and oak. Dry, tense and youthful with poise and tension from acidity, abundant tannins and a range of fruit flavours. Decent length and finish. Drink now and through 2024.

A smart pinot noir from the get-go with bright strawberry, boysenberry and cherry fruits on offer, as well as nicely judged oak influence and a gentle reductive inflexion. The palate has a smooth flow of fine tannins carrying plenty of red cherry fruit flavor. Attractive resolve here. Drink now. Screw cap

This wine combines so much of what we've come to love about New Zealand Pinot. It's light and bright but serious too, with plenty of site expression. Raspberry and blueberry compote, violets, baking spices and sun-baked stones all dance together on the nose. There's plush fruit on the palate but a savoriness too, framed by sinewy tannins and finishing on a stoney, mineral note.

91 points, Decanter – February 13, 2019, In “New Zealand Pinot Noir Wines to Seek Out,” Tina Gellie recommends:
“Classic Kiwi Pinot notes of juicy, bright raspberry and blue bramble fruits, with cherry-stone minerality and violet lift. It's light in body but big in concentration, with fresh acidity and firm, structured tannins.”

Nautilus is one of Marlborough's best-known wine brands and winemaker Clive Jones is the man who has taken its Pinot Noir from relative obscurity to one of the region's best reds. Low crop levels in the vineyard, gentle pressing in the winery and lots of TLC make this wine soft but structured, full-bodied but velvet smooth, and big but delicate. Everything that's great about Pinot Noir, in other words.
