New Director of the Consorzio per la Tutela dei Vini DOC Bolgheri e DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia

The Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Daniele Parri as the Director of the Consorzio per la Tutela dei Vini DOC Bolgheri e DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia.

With extensive and diverse experience in the wine industry, Daniele Parri was born in Li-vorno in 1987 and graduated in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Pisa. After gaining experience in wine companies both in Italy and abroad, he obtained a master’s de-gree in international Wine Marketing from IED in Florence. This qualification led him to serve as Export Manager at Caiarossa in Riparbella for seven years.

“Director Parri, to whom we extend the best wishes from all 74 members of the Consortium for the successful execution of his role, will begin his assignment on October 1st, 2024. We are confident in starting a constructive and proactive collaboration for the coming years, dur-ing a historic period full of challenges for our Appellation. On behalf of the entire Board, we thank Riccardo Binda for his work over the past 10 years and wish him the best for his future commitments,” says Albiera Antinori, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

For his part, Dr. Parri commented: “I am very happy and excited to begin this new project, fully aware of the prestige and importance of this position. I thank the Board for the trust they have placed in me; I will commit myself fully to continue protecting and enhancing the Bolgheri reality, which has been pursuing a path of excellence for years.”

About the Consortium
The Consorzio per la Tutela dei Vini DOC Bolgheri e DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia is the offi-cially recognized protection consortium by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food Sovereignty and Forests Policies, as the sole body responsible for the Promotion, Protection, and Man-agement of the two relevant denominations. The Consortium was established in January 1995, a few months after the introduction of the red wine regulations at the end of 1994. In 2014, the Consortium achieved the highest level of recognition from the Ministry, receiving the mandate to operate Erga Omnes, meaning on behalf of all producers.

Today, the Consortium is made up of 74 producers whose vineyards represent 99% of the 1,365 total hectares. Almost all the companies in the area handle all production phases, from the vineyard to bottling. In the calendar year 2023, bottled production was approximately 6,700,000 bottles. Although the denomination’s territory is very limited, producers have managed to highlight the many facets of the region, and in a few years, Bolgheri wines have become among the most appreciated by critics and
