Bötet Barley Wine 2009, som släpps på Systembolaget den första november har utnämnts till världens bästa Barley Wine. Juryns motivering: Bitter orange aroma, orange marmalade. Lime, lemon and hint of nuttiness. Bittersweet, tangy hops. Full bodied. Rich and spirituous, fiery, dry expressive finish. Sotholmen Extra Stout, som också är aktuell i novembersläppet blev Europas bästa Stout i export-stil. Juryns motivering: Espresso tan-coloured head. Excellent coffee aromas. Gorgeously chocolaty, roasted barley, a luscious creamy character. Bitter flavours with ash, liquorice, fruit and more chocolate. A dry grainy finish, very dark – delicious.
