Sällsynt Macallan: En kollektion av extremt sällsynta whiskies kommer auktionerades igår ut på Sotheby´s auktion i New York den 11:e maj, The Legacy Collection.

Urvalet av flaskor inkluderade bland annat de från en enda samling av The Macallan Fine & Rare whisky, inklusive den mycket sällsynta 1957 vintage buteljering. Dessutom har partiet också andra sällsynta flaskor från The Balvenie, The Dalmore, Midleton och Van Winkle.
Värdet av de 142 objekten uppskattades inför auktionen kunna nå så högt som 2 miljoner dollar.
Macallan-serien av årgångsflaskor, som ursprungligen skapades 2022, innehåller några av de sällsynta – och dyraste – whiskyflaskorna som har kommit ut på marknaden, som exempelvis The Macallan Fine & Rare 1926, som 2019 satte auktionsrekord och såldes för 1,5 miljoner dollar. Åtta whisky av Macallans i auktionen kommer från en lansering om färre än 100 flaskor, där 1957 är en av endast 15 producerade.
Sotheby’s-auktionen inkluderar även 56 Fine & Rare vintage-flaskor med anor från 1937 till 1990. Den äldsta åldersangivelsen från Macallan-serien är en 56-årig flaska från 1946 med ett uppskattat värde på 24 000 till 30 000 $.
Andra flaskor i auktionen inkluderar en The Balvenie 50 Year Old, Midleton Very Rare 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition, The Dalmore 25 Year Old och flaskor från The Van Winkle, från 10 till 23 år gamla.
